Acupuncture acts on areas of the brain known to reduce sensitivity to pain and stress, as well as promoting relaxation and deactivating the ‘analytical’ brain, which is responsible for anxiety and worry.
Hi, I'm Vanessa
an East London based acupuncturist practicing in Walthamstow and Dalston. Acupuncture is about so much more than just needles. Your session is a space for you to relax, to speak freely and feel supported in taking control of your health. My treatments are an opportunity to explore different approaches, gather practical information and work out all the ways I can help you to feel well.
My aim is to create a space where the principles of this ancient medicine make sense alongside our modern lifestyles. I place a great deal of importance on simple lifestyle shifts with diet, movement and self awareness so that your appointment extends far beyond our meeting.
Alongside my private practices in Walthamstow and Dalston I offer low cost acupuncture in a multi-bed setting at Hilltop Community Acupuncture in Brockley as well as working as an in house acupuncturist at the Zita West Fertility Clinic in Marylebone. I am a proud member of the Acupuncture Childbirth Team (ACT) and The British Acupuncture Council.

Chinese Medicine is one of the oldest natural healthcare systems in the world, originating over 3000 years ago, and works to identify the underlying imbalances that cause the presenting symptoms. Acupuncture uses very fine needles inserted into specific locations in the body to rebalance the body’s energy and engage the body’s natural healing mechanism.
MRI scans show that acupuncture triggers the body’s healing process by calming the central nervous system, regulating hormones and releasing endorphins.

I've struggled with pain from an old knee injury for years, but Vanessa's treatments have been an absolute saviour. Without a doubt, nothing has been more effective in relieving my pain and supporting my return to 'normal life' from injury.
Vanessa has such a caring and gentle approach to her consultation, that made me open up with ease about the whole range of other potential lifestyle contributors I hadn't even considered.

Chinese Medicine is a whole-istic system that has evolved over thousands of years and considers ourselves as an extension of the natural world, rather than separate from it. Viewing life as a constant interplay of energy, Qi, the different branches of Chinese Medicine (acupuncture, tai chi, qi gong, herbal medicine, feng shui) look to balance or harness this Qi.
